Before any application of lip products it is crucial that your lips are well prepped. This will help make the product apply much more smoothly with no flakes or dry bits. I like to use a lip scrub by LUSH as this really helps exfoliates my lips and leaves them super soft. Alternatively you can make your own with olive oil and sugar.

Now that your lips are all prepped it's time to line the lips. Using a lip liner is an absolute must for me when it comes to wearing lipstick as not only does it create the perfect neat outline, it also accentuates and gives the illusion of bigger lips in which unfortunately I do not have! I like to take my liner ever so slightly outside the natural lines of my lips, be careful that you aren't drawing too out of the lines though as you want it to look as natural as possible.

After I've lined my lips, I then like to fill the rest of my lips in with the liner. This essentially acts as a base for my lipstick and I notice a huge difference in longevity of my lipstick when I've done this step as I rarely have to top up my lippy during my working day!

Bare
Using Angel by MAC (a fav of Kim Kardashians!) I apply this directly out of the bullet onto my lips. I then go around the edges with a lip brush just to make sure the lipstick is blended and even. For a more precise finish you can tidy up around yours lips with a concealer if necessary. This lipstick has such a gorgeous finish providing a slight bit of gloss giving the illusion of big powty lips.

Hope you enjoyed this post! Keep your eye's peeled for my Kylie Jenner Inspired one coming soon!

I’ve decided to write this post as I am regularly asked what colour lipstick I am wearing. Chances are, 90% of the time, I’m wearing a MAC colour. I love the formula of MAC lipsticks.

Boldly Bare Lip Liner Dupe

It was difficult to whittle down just five favourites, but I think I’ve narrowed a selection of colours down pretty well. I am a nude lip lover, but I do like to branch out to more daring colours every once in a while.

I thought showing the lipsticks on my lips would be more useful to you then just a swatch. For reference, I am wearing a MAC NC42 foundation in the pictures. All lipsticks will look unique on different skin complexions.

Torrent illustrator for mac. My five favourite MAC lipsticks are; Wd smartware for mac os.

Kinda Sexy

This was the first MAC lipstick I ever purchased six or seven years ago after seeing it mentioned in a You Tube tutorial. It is the perfect neutral, pinky-rose toned nude, which compliments my olive skin complexion, whether I am fairer skinned or tanned. It is a matte shade, however, not drying in the slightest, long-wearing and easy to apply. I like to pair Kinda Sexy with MAC’s Boldly Bare lip liner, which I find are a good match for each other.

Velvet Teddy

This is a perfect, wearable deep-tone beige shade with a matte finish. Although it is a matte lipstick, it does have a subtle sheen when first applied. The lipstick applies evenly with a nice colour pay off, even without a lip liner. I think Velvet Teddy is a more universal nude than Kinda Sexy, as it is complimentary of a larger range of skin complexions. It also looks different on literally everybody. I pair Velvet Teddy with MAC’s Boldly Bare lip liner, which I find lightens the lipstick up a little, but is a good match.

Please Me

This is a muted-rosy-tinted pink, matte finish lipstick. Ok, so, on it’s own, it is quite a scary shade for my skin complexion. Without a lip liner, it looks an unflattering barbie-ish pink colour, however, when paired with MAC’s Boldy Bare lip liner, it transforms into the wearable pinky-nude shade that you can see in the picture. Though, I do think it would suit lighter skin tones as it is. Please Me applies smoothly, with good colour payoff, however, wearing a lip liner is a must as it can tend to sit in the natural lines of the lips.

MAC Red

This is a vivid blush-red shade which provides a semi-matte finish, giving a gorgeous sheen once on the lips. In the winter it looks striking with neutral, contoured face make-up and in summer, really compliments a glowy, bronzed look. This lipstick glides on the lips effortlessly, with or without a lip liner, though I do pair it with MAC’s Redd lip liner to intensify the colour and to prolong the longevity. MAC Red isn’t as popular as Ruby Woo, which I find is VERY drying and requires a lot of prepping prior to, and maintenance once worn.

Sin

Mac Boldly Bare Lip Liner

This is a deep, dark, burgundy red shade, with a matte finish. It took a long time for me to actually be brave enough to wear this outside the house, though, once I did, I received so many unexpected compliments. This shade is very universal; a bold lip on lighter skin tones, but a more neutral, wearable shade on deeper skin tones. This lipstick is quite drying so needs a lip balm (my favourite is Carmex) applied underneath. I feel Sin can be worn without a lip liner as the colour pay off is amazing and applies so evenly. When I do wear one, I pair Sin with Mac’s Dark Out Pro Longwear lip liner.

Let me know your favourite MAC lipstick shades, I’d love to try some new ones out!
